Welcome to St Paul's!
Who are we?
Situated on the Corner of Brighton and Jetty Road, the St Paul’s Lutheran Church family has been an integral part of the Glenelg community for 90 years, providing ministry opportunities, reaching out to those in need through Community Care, pastoral care for residents at Minda, supporting the work of school chaplains, as well as ecumenical involvement in community events such as the Glenelg Christmas Pageant and Easter sunrise service.
We warmly welcome you to be a part of our church family too!
Our history
St Paul’s first gathered in 1930 in private homes with Pastor A Zweck. On 8 February 1931, the first service was conducted by Pastor F Quast in the Masonic Hall Supper room, High Street Glenelg. On 25 September 1932, services began in the Railway Building at 142 Jetty Road, Glenelg. This was hired for services each week, and in June of 1933, the decision was made to buy the Railway Building.
In November 1952, the present property was purchased. Our current church building was built and dedicated on 10 September 1961.
We have been shepherded by many faithful pastors over the years and currently by Pastor Tim Ebbs.
